"The Fairy Chase” won the Best Book category in QLD/NT "Write-a-Book-in-a-Day" Competition 2017

For the third consecutive year our Year 6 cohort have been involved in Write-a-Book-in-a-Day which is a 12 hour story writing marathon. Write-a-Book-in-a-Day is run by a Children’s Cancer Charity, with the aim of the competition being to raise funds for research and awareness, and also creating books to be sent to hospitals across the country treating young cancer patients.  Prior to the event students raise a minimum of $240 per group, all of which goes towards cancer research. Students must plan, write and redraft, illustrate, edit and bind a completed book between 8am and 8pm, producing both an electronic and a hard copy by the deadline.

I am pleased to announce the great success of two of our 2017 teams. The Bubbly Unicorns received a Highly Commended place for their writing of “The Fairy Chase” in the Best Book QLD/NT Primary School Division and The Blazed Donuts won the category of Best Illustrated Book for “An Angel’s Voice” in the QLD/NT Primary School Division.
